Our Company collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information (Name, email address, phone number, and any addresses you add to your account to enable delivery of products you may buy.
  • Email addresses and / or phone numbers of people you wish make a referral to or collaborate on books you wish to create and print.
  • A password associated with any account you create.
  • Data voluntarily provided by way of competitions, surveys, questionnaires, referrals or testimonials or gifts.
  • Anonymised data associated with user sessions and interactions within Authory, for example data evidencing issues that may arise with the use of Authory, in order to improve our service and your experience.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide Our Company with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online or place an order for any of our products or services.
  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email.
  • Utilise the “Add contributor” function to a product you are creating.
  • Utilise the “Refer a friend” function to make them aware of our services.
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.

Our Company may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:

  • Marketing sources such as advertisements, surveys, questionnaires, or competitions.

How will we use your data?

Our Company collects your data so that we can:

  • Process your order and manage your account. If you decide to buy products from us, then we need to send (securely) the following personal information to our partner printing companies: Your name and delivery address.
  • Keep you informed of Our Services, usage guides and special offers on other products and services we think you might like.

When Our Company processes your order, and if we suspect potentially fraudulent activity, We may send your data (securely) to, and also use the resulting information from, our Payment Services Provider or credit agencies.

How do we store your data?

We operate a zero-trust data privacy policy, and all personal data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

We do not hold any payment related information, which is held by our Payment Processing Partners such as Stripe, PayPal and other institutions registered and regulated by UK Banking legislation.

Marketing

Our Company would like to periodically send you information about our products and services we think you might like.

We will not rent, sell or otherwise make your personal details available to any other organisation, apart from those partners that physically print any products you order from us. They too are contracted not to provide your personal details to any 3rd parties, and to use them solely for fulfilling your order.

You have the right at any time to stop Our Company from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to other members of the Our Company Group.

You can opt out of any such marketing communications as well as manage your cookie preferences from the Account Management pages within the Authory app.

You can also click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any marketing emails we may send to opt-out.

 What are your data protection rights?

Our Company would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request Our Company for copies of your personal data. There is a link to request the personal data we hold at the bottom of the Account Management Page. We reserve the right to make a small charge for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Our Company correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Our Company to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that Our Company erase your personal data. Should you wish to delete your account this can be found at the bottom of the “Account Management” page once logged into the Authory app. If you choose to delete your account, we confirm that we will delete all account records, personal data and any images, text and details of any contributors you have invited to your books or other products. Any content provided as a collaborator to another authors book remain their property. Please see out terms and conditions for full details. We will retain order and payment information that are required to meet our legal obligations for accounting and tax purposes.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Our Company restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. Please make this request in writing via a support ticket or via email to support@authory.app.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Our Company’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. Please make this request in writing via a support ticket or via email to support@authory.app.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Our Company transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
